Chinese program 2009-10

UCSC Language Program - Languages: Chinese

 

Students of Chinese may choose a course of study that meets their specific needs. Those interested in language acquisition skills can enroll in Chinese language from beginning to advanced levels. In addition, students may choose:

a major or minor in Language Studies,
a major in Global Economics,
or a minor in East Asian Studies.

(All courses are in Chinese unless noted otherwise)

  • INTRODUCTORY (see course catalog for description)
    • Chinese 1 -- offered fall quarter
    • Chinese 2 -- offered winter quarter
    • Chinese 3 -- offered spring quarter
  • AFTER Chinese 3:
    • Chinese 99 -- Independent Study (lower-division). 2 or 5 units available with consent of any Chinese instructor.

  • INTERMEDIATE (see course catalog for description)
    • Chinese 4 -- offered fall quarter
    • Chinese 5 -- offered winter quarter
    • Chinese 6 -- offered spring quarter

  • ADVANCED Chinese (see course catalog for descriptions)
    • Chinese 50 -- offered Fall 2009
    • Chinese 105 -- offered Spring 2010
    • Chinese 199 -- Independent study (upper-division). 2 or 5 units available with consent of any Chinese instructor.
